Crew Sheet Wizard

Enter information from your crew sheets even faster than before with the new Crew Sheet Wizard in The Labor Contractor’s Office. First, enter the crew number that employees are assigned to when you set up their account. Then use the Crew Sheet reports to print your Crew Sheets. Crew supervisors use the crew sheets to record hours/pieces worked for each employee for the week.  Than a few simple steps are all that it takes to enter the time and/or pieces at the end of the week:

Step 1:  Select the crew #, grower #, crop, job and labor general ledger account for the crew you are entering.

Step 2:  Enter the dates of the pay period.

Step 3: Enter the pay type (regular hourly, piecework etc.) and the rate to use.  The crew supervisor may have a different pay type and rate.  In this example the supervisor is getting $8.00/hour and the other employees on the crew are being paid $6.75/hour.  If the supervisors were paid on a salary basis (a set amount per day) then you would simply enter the salary wage type code and the rate per day.

Step 4: Enter the default number of hours worked for each day in the week (For Piecework, you can also enter the default piecework units as well.)

Step 5:  Select the order that employees were printed in on the crew sheet.  If more employees were added to this crew by the crew supervisor in the field, check the box and the wizard will let you add them in the next step.

Step 6:  List employees that were added by hand to the crew sheet in the field.

Step 7:  The employees assigned to this crew are now listed in a grid, along with any new employees added in Step 6.  Each employee has the default number of hours for each day (which you entered in step 4) automatically listed.  You can now edit the hours worked for each day for each employee.  If an employee didn't work for the entire week, you can zero the total hours in the right hand column and the program will zero out each day.  Totals are automatically calculated for each employee as well as a total by day for all employees, and a total for the entire week.  The number of employees is also listed at the bottom left corner of the wizard.

Note: If you are paying piecework wages, then the wizard will give you two grids to edit, one with the number of hours worked, and the other with the piecework units.

Once you have edited the hours, the wizard will create entries in the Daily Payroll file for the entire crew.  If needed, you can edit the information at this point and/or print any of the daily payroll reports to check your entries.  Once you have verified everything is correct, you can print checks!
