Ordering Information

If you received a product brochure in the mail or downloaded and printed one from our web site, you will find an order form and software license agreement in the back of the brochure.

If you do not have an order form, click here to download it or call us toll free at (888) 222-DATA and select the option for sales to order The Farmer's Office.  We can send you an order form by fax or email or just take your information over the phone.

Please complete the order form and initial the software license agreement.  If paying by check, mail copies of the completed order form and license agreement along with payment to:

Datatech
5150 N. Sixth, #125
Fresno, CA 93710

If paying by credit card, you can return the completed order form and license agreement by mail or fax them to (559) 226-5418 for faster service.

Payment may be made by check, money order, American Express, Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card.

Once we receive your order, we will send a CD-ROM for you to install the program along with a copy of the Installation/Tutorial manual.  If you have already installed the evaluation version of The Farmer's Office, we can simply provide you with a registration code over the phone or by fax or email that will take the program out of evaluation mode.  You can then continue working with the data you have already entered into the evaluation version, or start over with a fresh set of files.

Training can be scheduled by contacting our sales department by phone or email.

Training Options

Training is essential to getting the most our of your new software.  We have several options available to get you started:

  1. Training at our office in Fresno.  This is available at no additional charge.  You can bring your computer in to our office and we will install the software for you.  Most people can learn the basics of setup, employee entry, and check entry and processing in 2-4 hours.  Additional in depth training can be done whenever you are ready.

  2. Remote training.  If you have a high speed Internet connection, we can use remote communications software to provide training services.  You connect your computer to ours using pcAnywhere or UltraVNC, and we can see what is on your screen while we are talking on the phone.  Remote training is often very effective because it is possible to schedule short training sessions where you can learn specific parts of the program, put that knowledge to use, and then schedule additional training sessions when you are ready to learn other parts of the program.

  3. On site training at your office.  On-site training is required in some circumstances, such as multi-user network installations where there are several people that must be trained and the initial installation is more complicated because the software must be installation the server and multiple workstations.  On-site training rates are as follows:
      I
n California:  $75/hour, including travel time from and to Fresno
Outside California:  $75/hour, plus normal travel costs (airline, hotels, meals)

  4. Start learning The Farmer’s Office on your own (with help available on our 800 number) then get follow-up training either at our office, your office, or remotely.  This allows you to learn the basics of setup and data entry, then concentrate on more advanced topics during training sessions.  This is a good option for people with moderate experience with computers and accounting software.

  5. Learn how to use The Farmer’s Office on your own.  This is sometimes done by people who already have extensive experience with computers, bookkeeping procedures, and with using other accounting programs already.  The Tutorial manual provides you with a step by step guide to getting started, and customer support personnel are available to answer any questions that come up.

Using remote communications software like pcAnywhere or UltraVNC is also recommended to enhance the level of support you receive.  These programs allow you to connect your computer to ours over the Internet, letting us see exactly what is on your screen and remotely operate your computer.  This is very helpful for diagnosing problems, showing you how to use the software.

There is an additional cost for pcAnywhere (made by Symantec).  UltraVNC is an open source program, and is available at no charge.  Click here for instructions on downloading and installing UltraVNC.
