
The Broker's Office
is based on the same core system as The Shipper's
Office, but it is designed to include the features needed for fresh
produce brokers. Standard features include Buy/Sell
Invoicing, Brokerage Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable,
Produce Payables, Freight Payables
and General Ledger.
Buy/Sell invoicing handles
billing for produce that you purchase and then resell to
others. You can enter the cost for the produce in
addition to the sale price, enabling the program to
calculate your profit for each invoice. The Produce
Purchases program then uses the costs you enter to
automatically create an invoice in the Accounts Payable
system for the purchased produce. The Freight
Payables system helps you match up freight costs entered on customer
invoices with the freight bills you receive to make sure your costs are
accurately recorded and that you do not double pay any freight bills.
When you are acting as a
broker between a buyer and one or more sellers, the Brokerage
Invoicing program generates a Brokerage Confirmation
document and handles billing either the seller(s)
and/or receiver for the brokerage.
Several optional features are available for
brokers whose requirements go beyond the standard system. Brokers
that need inventory management features can add the Sales Inventory/Order Entry
and/or Pallet Tag Inventory options.
The Buy/Sell Repacking option can also be added to accurately track inventory
balances and
costs associated with repacking items. Quote Faxing and Payroll
options are also available. If you're business expands to include
selling on behalf of growers and you need to produce
settlements/liquidation reports for your growers, you can also add in
the Grower Accounting module.

System Requirements
The Broker's Office can be
used on a single Windows 2000, XP or Vista computer or on a
network server (running Windows 2000 or 2003 Server).
A minimum of 100MB of disk space is required for
installation. A Pentium IV/Celeron/Core processor or newer and 1Gb
of RAM is recommended.
On a network, The Broker's Office works with either
Tobit FaxWare
or GFI FaxMaker
fax servers to provide
integrated faxing capabilities for all users. Fax Notifications
of Shipment (passings), Confirmations of Sale, statements, and invoices
directly to your customers.
These documents can also be easily emailed to your customers as PDF
attachments.
Pricing
The Broker's Office is very affordable for small
brokerage operations, and it scales up well for larger sales
organizations that may need multiple users and features beyond the basic
package. Pricing starts at $2,990 for a single user version that
includes Buy/Sell and Brokerage Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Produce Payables,
Freight Payables, Accounts
Payable, and General Ledger. Call for pricing on additional users
and optional features including Payroll, Order Entry/Sales Inventory,
Repacking, and Pallet Tag Inventory.
